Scientific American announces new VP Product and Technology, Dan Benjamin

Dan Benjamin has joined Scientific American in the role of VP Product and Technology. Dan will be responsible for overseeing Scientific American’s technology, product and data portfolio strategy which will expand the brand’s audience, build business opportunities and further impact customer experience.

Prior to joining Scientific American, Dan spent 15 years working in media technology. Since 2020, Dan has worked on DBMO.ai, a company he co-founded which provides a platform for media companies to use machine learning to better understand their content, provide rich metadata, and power product features. From 2007-2019, Dan was at SiriusXM in a series of escalating roles, lastly as Vice President + General Manager of Data and AI Product, where he led the team responsible for product personalization, recommendation, targeting, and data collection while also serving as a driver of SiriusXM’s efforts in podcasting.
